Privacy policy
What PlushPick collects, why, and who handles it: consent gated analytics, the newsletter and contact form, cookies, and how to change your choice.
Last updated 3 September 2026. PlushPick is run by Cal Hewitt from the Houston area in Texas. The site sells nothing, has no accounts, no logins and no payments, so there is very little to collect and the list below is the whole of it.
What is collected
There are two places where you can hand over information yourself.
The newsletter signup asks for your email address, and for a first name if you feel like giving one. The first name is optional and the signup works without it. It is used to send the emails you asked for and nothing else.
The contact form asks for whatever you type into it, which is normally a name, an email address so a reply can reach you, and your message.
Beyond that, analytics can record the sort of information a browser sends on any visit: the pages you looked at, roughly where in the world the visit came from, the type of device and browser, and how you moved through a page. That only happens if you have accepted analytics, and the next section explains how that works.
Analytics and your consent choice
PlushPick uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are actually used, so that layouts and guides can be improved.
Neither one loads until you accept. Nothing is measured, recorded or sent to Google or Microsoft before that. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, the tracking scripts are never placed on the page at all.
Your choice is stored in your own browser so the banner does not ask again on every visit. It is a setting on your device, not a profile held about you.
If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, that signal is honored automatically. The banner does not appear and neither analytics tool loads. You do not have to do anything else.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" control in the footer of every page. Turning analytics off stops it going forward.
Cookies and similar storage
Only two kinds of storage are used here. The first is the record of your own consent choice, which is needed for the site to remember what you asked for. The second is whatever Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity set once you have accepted them, which is what makes the counting work. Decline, and only the record of that decision remains.
Who handles the information
The forms on the site are processed by Netlify, which also hosts the site. Newsletter addresses are held in Brevo, the service that sends the emails. Analytics data goes to Google and to Microsoft under their own terms as the providers of those tools.
These providers are based in the United States and information reaching them is handled there. Each of them is used for the single job described above, and for nothing else.
Affiliate links
Some links on the site go to a retailer through the Amazon Associates Program or through the affiliate network Awin. When you follow one, the network and the retailer record the click so that a referral can be credited. That happens on their side, under their own privacy terms, and PlushPick receives only totals: how many clicks and sales came from the site. No name, address or payment detail from your purchase is ever passed back here.
Selling information
Information collected here is not sold, rented or traded to anybody. There is no advertising network on the site, no data broker, and no list that gets passed around.
How long it is kept
An email address stays on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link at the bottom of every email. A contact form message is kept for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a sensible record of the conversation. Analytics data is held by Google and Microsoft under the retention settings of those tools.
Children
Nothing on PlushPick is written for children, and the site is not directed to children under 13. Information is not knowingly collected from them.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, change or withdraw your analytics consent from the "Cookie settings" control in the footer, and ask what is held about you or ask for it to be deleted. To make a request of that kind, use the contact form and say what you are asking for. Requests are answered as quickly as they can be.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The current version is the one published here.
How to reach the operator
The contact form is the way to reach Cal Hewitt about anything in this policy. There is no published street address, phone number or email address for the site.
